THE ROLE & THE TEAM
Fulfillment Core within Zalando builds and operates systems that are at the core of Zalando’s platform strategy and ensure timely, efficient and correct delivery of every one of our customers’ 185+ million orders every year. As a Principal Product Manager for Inventory Distribution you will shape products that automatically distribute hundreds of millions of items within Zalando’s fulfillment network.
In this role, you'll be responsible for shaping products that automate the distribution of millions of items across Zalando's fulfillment network, covering inbound, returns, and replenishment processes. As a Product Manager, your primary task will be to identify and prioritize the key challenges facing our team. Your goal will be to develop an effective inventory distribution solution that meets the needs of both our B2B and B2C business models, despite sometimes conflicting goals.
You'll collaborate closely with two engineering teams, each consisting of 5-6 engineers and applied scientists: one focused on inventory distribution and the other on demand forecasting.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
You’ll assume full ownership of Zalando’s inventory distribution problem space
You’ll collaborate closely with applied scientists and product analysts to formulate various hypothesis and influence research roadmap
You’ll translate these insights into a coherent product roadmap
You’ll excel in communicating your findings to a diverse group of stakeholders from operations, markets and planning functions
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You possess exceptional problem solving and analytical skills - we can't emphasize this enough
Ideally, you have hands-on experience in inventory distribution, stock management or demand forecasting problem space
While prior product management experience is preferred, we're also interested in candidates from related fields who may have limited experience in product management but bring relevant expertise
