Zalando’s newly formed Inspiration and Entertainment venture is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Product Manager to join the Content Experiences product team. This is a new venture at Zalando that will focus on embracing a new future, where this role will contribute to a new chapter in the evolution of online retail.The Content Experiences product team is responsible for building remarkable consumer-facing features and marketable experiences to support Zalando’s vision of being the starting point for fashion and lifestyle. This Principal Product Manager role will be part of the broader mission to build intelligent foundational services and imaginative products that both enable content creators and  partners. The role will operate in a collaborative environment with Design, Engineering, as well as other cross functional stakeholders across the business, with the aim of prioritising business impact across multiple high visibility projects.  

As the Principal Product Manager you will be responsible for the creator experience on Zalando, owning the strategy for a highly complex product including defining the product roadmap, executing the roadmap with your Engineering and Applied Science colleagues to working with commercial functions such as ZMS (Zalando Marketing Services) and content strategy teams to operate and shape the creator experience onsite. You will role model and mentor where possible, contributing to drive a strong product-lead culture and a high functioning team.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Own and deliver: Identify and define the opportunity in your problem space, concept and present a prioritised roadmap with ambitious targets, and enable the team to drive towards those.

  • Contribute via PM fundamentals: Maximise your impact utilising strong product management skill set and domain knowledge, customer research, and hands-on data analysis. 

  • Identify new product opportunities with a customer-centric mindset: Build the best possible content publishing platform for authors on Zalando.Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and ensure timely resolution of issues for our customers. 

  • Build technical proficiency: Develop a shared understanding of the architecture and the technology of Zalando’s content products and collaborate with cross-organizational engineering teams to deliver success.

  • Expand your impact: Contribute to team and company-wide product culture, sharing best practices, mentoring and providing training on specialised skill sets or expertise.

  • Lead with data: Define, implement, and monitor a reporting strategy and perform analysis of complex scenarios and AB- tests, both systematically and on a one- off basis.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Communication: You are an expert at driving and communicating vision and impact, with a collaborative view of success that brings along both junior and senior stakeholders.

  • Product methods & tools: you have a strong track record of developing and building successful capability products, ideally in an online service marketplace environment.  Problem solving & Ownership:You have owned and delivered against a mid-term (2-3 years) vision for a high-complexity product area, solving an important business or customer problem.

  • Customer centricity: You have the ability to understand customer needs and turn them into remarkable products. You are experienced in conducting insights with user research and product discovery to provide the voice of the customer, creating the right user stories for immediate and future needs.

  • Multiple domains: You have experience in working closely with cross functional teams in Design, Engineering, and Data Science. Experience working in advertising and programming is a plus.

  • Data Quality & Big Data: You have experience in handling big data and ensuring top data quality. 

  • Platform Services & Multi Partner Solutions: You have contributed to/managed successful products or services of a larger platform and established multi-partner solutions
